Saving Lives with Longwave Infrared Thermal Safety Cameras
Thermal infrared cameras are being given serious design consideration as a cost effective means for automakers to meet the new NHTSA FMVSS 127 Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) regulations which specify day and nighttime performance at speeds from 6.2 to 45mph that become effective in 2029. This talk will discuss the latest advancements in performance, size, weight, and power (SWaP) optimized thermal cameras, and the flexibility enabled by FPGAs to address this challenging use case.
